It’s Neat to Meet Steve! (He’s our new editor.)

Concepts TV welcomes award-winning Steven T. Miller as our new Motion Graphics Designer and Video Editor. Miller joins Concepts with 10 years of experience in motion graphics and non-linear editing. He has worked with many high profile clients, including Ford Motors, Home Depot, A&E Network, Discovery Communications, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and Turner Broadcasting. The winner of five Graphic Design USA Awards in 2013, he is incredibly talented and we are delighted to have him on board. We are also very nosy, so I sat down with Steve to get the inside scoop on our newest addition. Here’s the lowdown

ML: Hi Steve, mind if we start off with some basics?

SM: Not at all.

ML: What’s your favorite color?

SM: Blue.

ML: Food?

SM: Pizza. But, I guess that’s everyone’s favorite.

ML: Mmm, works for me. Favorite saying?

SM: The grass is always greener. My dad used to say, ‚“No one smiles in mud town.” Still trying to figure that one out

ML: My dad used to say, ‚“Keep your head on straight”, because I stress out a lot.

SM: Me too. But then you get to a point where you just have to let it go.

ML (laugh): True. Okay, favorite TV show?

SM: The Blacklist.

ML: Favorite season?

SM: Fall. I could live in a hoodie.

ML: I love hoodies. They’re so comfortable. But, if you were stranded on a desert island, you probably wouldn’t need a hoodie. So what three things would you take with you instead?

SM: Cell phone, computer, cheese steak.

ML (laugh): Cheese steak?

SM: Yeah.

ML: If you weren’t an editor, what would you be?

SM: A creative director. That’s my dream job.

ML: Interesting. So your alternate job is your dream job?

SM: Yeah.

ML: Then how did you end up editing?

SM: I used to watch a lot of Anime and when I heard they were going to make them into live action movies, I started studying film.

ML: What’s your favorite part of the editing process?

SM: When you make someone’s vision possible and they get that look on their face, like that’s exactly how I imagined it.

ML: What’s the biggest highlight of your career so far (other than working with me)?

SM: Working on a web video for Turner Broadcasting.

ML: That’s pretty cool. Is that your proudest accomplishment?

SM: No.

ML: What’s your proudest accomplishment?

SM: My son, Milo.

ML: Awh. How old is he?

SM: Seven.

ML: Name one thing you and your son have in common.

SM: Freakishly long eyelashes.

ML (laugh): My son does, too! It’s like someone glued centipedes to his eyelids. So what do you guys do for fun?

SM: Play video games.

ML: What else do you do in your spare time?

SM: Study animation and cook. I like to cook.

ML: Do you have a specialty dish that you make?

SM: I make this meat sauce over noodles. Ever hear of Pastitsio? It’s kind of like a Greek sloppy joe or a Greek lasagna.

ML: So if someone comes over your house, do they say, ‚“You better make that meat sauce”?

SM: Yes.

ML: Can you make some and bring it to work?

SM: No, Kristy is a vegetarian. She couldn’t eat it.

ML: If I check Kristy’s schedule and see what day she isn’t here, can you make some and bring it to work?

SM: Yes.

ML: Done.
