And They Called It Puppy Love
Our tails are wagging this week as our Woof Washer 360 commercial has reached 100 million views! With the gigantic success of the campaign and the massive social media following that has launched the Woof Washer 360 spot into ‚“viral sensation” status, we’re excited to share some behind the scenes tidbits from our lively shoot back in April!
Filmed down in West Palm Beach on a gorgeous spring afternoon, the Woof Washer 360 shoot was a dog lovers dream and one of the most enjoyable for the Concepts TV production team so far this year. With dogs of all sizes scurrying around the yard, looking for belly rubs, and licking every face in sight, the crew couldn’t help but have a little fun with the playful pooches. To highlight just how well the Woof Washer 360 really works, the crew recruited a number of local dog owners and trainers to try the product out on their own dogs and the positive feedback was overwhelming. With the Woof Washer 360’s innovative circular design, the dogs were thoroughly soaked!
But with some of the pups succumbing to stage fright early on and other outside factors coming into play, not every minute of the shoot was a walk in the park. In fact, if the first shot of the day was any indication of what was to come, then the team was in for a long afternoon! With the crew set up and the talent in place, our director yelled, ‚“Action!” but a precocious yellow Lab had other plans. With a wide, knowing grimace on his face, he pranced over to the corner of the yard and proceeded to, well, squat! Between the noisy landscapers in the neighborhood and curious onlookers stopping by, there were certainly some obstacles that the crew needed to overcome. In fact, in the eleventh hour, our Director of Production, Dana Conklin, had to step up to the plate and fill in as our talent! Sure, she was anxious at first but one look at her adorable, furry co-star and she called it puppy love.
With the sunlit backdrop of wholesome Florida neighborhoods as their guide, the crew took advantage of their scenic surroundings and wound up yard hopping to 5-6 different backyards throughout the course of the day to capture a variety of different shots. With so many dogs to film and plenty of backyards to choose from, the crew made use of the time and space they had in a resourceful and creative way. Our Producer, Frank Pulice, even had the rare opportunity to turn the tables on our furry friends when given the job of covering the dogs in mud to demonstrate just how effective the Woof Washer 360 really is!
All in all, the Woof Washer 360 shoot (much like the finished commercial) was a huge success! The crew had a blast, the dogs loved the product, and fun was had by all. But if anyone asks, the real secret behind a successful dog shoot? An abundance of dog treats!
